The Cubbie Bear 5K starts right outside Principal Park before running through the streets of downtown Des Moines. As participants return to the park, they will enter the outfield, run around the warning track and finish near home plate!
This is a running experience unlike any other.

The smallest (and cutest) Cubs fans will run around Principal Park before heading to the field to run on the warning track to finish near home plate! The Cubbie Bear Kids Run will take place after all our 5K runners have finished and is 0.6 miles. Be sure to stick around to cheer these young athletes into the finish line and see the excitement in their eyes as they look to their finish line and enter the home of the Iowa Cubs.

We recommend you pick up your packet on Saturday if possible to avoid lines and stress on race morning. To pick up your packet, please just bring your ID and confirmation email. If you’d like to pick up for others, please bring a copy of their confirmation email.
There will be free parking at Principal Park for the Saturday pick-up hours and on race day.
